Omega-Sphere
Diffusion

Lamphouse

Introduced: 1960
Discontinued: 1962

The Omega-Sphere lamphouse was a variation of the original Chromega lamphouse - in actual fact, it was just the Chromega lamphouse without the filter unit.  As such, it was a diffusion lamphouse for black and white printing.  Sold concurrently with the Omegalite, it would have had the advantage that it could be used with variable contrast paper if provision for a filter drawer had been included.

There were two models available, one for D series 4"x5" enlargers and the other for the B series.  The colour filter units were available separately if the user wished to upgrade the Omega-Sphere to Chromega specification.  Most buyers opted to go with the Chromega head, and the Omega-Spheres were soon discontinued.

Used Advice:  They are relatively rare, but units that are still complete and in good condition should still be usable for black and white printing.
