2700 Diffused VC
Cold Light

Lamphouse

Introduced: 1993
Discontinued: 1997

Super Chromega C Dichroic Lamphouse

The 2700 Diffused VC Light Source was Omega's first cold light head since the Omegalite was discontinued.  While the Omegalite could not be used with variable contrast paper, the 2700 used a lamp balanced for 2700°K which provided the proper spectrum for VC papers.  Ordinary variable contrast filters such as Polycontrast or Multigrade were used in the filter drawer provided on the side of the lamphouse.

As with other heads intended for the C760, the 2700 could also be fitted to the C700, and with adapter kits, to the B-66, B-22, and C-67 enlargers.

Used Advice:  The lamps are rated for 10,000 hours, so even used units should still have a lot of life, but if the lamp is missing or non-functional, there could be a problem as Omega never listed replacements.
