Chromega
B Dichroic
Introduced: 1974 |
| The Chromega B Dichroic lamphouse was the
first Omega colorhead firmly aimed at the home darkroom market. The
introduction of color processing tubes and small packages of color
chemistry and paper made home color print processing far more
practical, and there was now a demand for the same type of color
lamphouse that professional labs had been using. The Chromega B Dichroic covers formats up to 2¼"x2¼" and was initially fitted to the B-22, then the B-66 and B600 enlargers. Features included a 75w quartz-halogen lamp, 0-170 filtration, and external power supply. Used Advice: The Chromega B Dichroic is quite suitable for standard column length enlargers, but we'd prefer one of the later C700 or C760 colorheads for XL models. Since the Chromega B requires an external power supply, check that the power supply is included and is in good working order. Also check that the correct lamp is installed, as non-standard lamps may damage the power supply. |
