SCA-400 Color Analyzer & Timer

& Timer

Introduced: 1980
Discontinued: 1984

The SCA-400 eclipsed the SCA-300 as the top-of-the-line analyzer in the SCA series. In place of the accessory memory modules that the SCA-300 used, the SCA-400 had 8 programmable memory banks built in.  With the 3 silicon cells in the probe, and the 4 channel display, all values were available to the operator with just one reading.  The SCA-400 also incorporated timer circuitry so that the unit was capable of providing both manual and automatic exposure control.  For black and white printing, it was also capable of determining the required grade of paper as well as the exposure time.

Used Advice:  This unit uses the same probe as the SCA-300 which is somewhat fragile and difficult to repair. The microprocessor based circuitry uses a lithium battery for memory storage which will probably require replacement.
