Omega B-8 Enlarger

The B-9 and B-10 enlargers were specifically designed to provide a medium format alternative to the Auto-Chromega D-4 color enlarger. No condenser head was available for either of these models - just the Chromega B head and the Omega-Sphere, which was a Chromega head without the filter assembly, intended for black and white printing.

Initially, the negative carriers were the same series used with the B-7/B-8 enlargers, but subsequently new carriers were introduced, specifically for the color enlargers, with white top plates and black anodized bottom plates.

Since a B-7 or B-8 chassis could be purchased with a Chromega B or Omega-
Sphere lamphouse for about the same price as a B-9 or B-10 enlarger, one questions whether these models were necessary at all. The Chromega B head and Omega-Spheres did not prove to be particularly popular, and within a few years, the B-9 and B10 were withdrawn.

Used Advice: Since the non-dichroic Chromega lamphouses are considered obsolete, the B-9 and B-10s would only be practical as diffusion enlargers for black and white printing.
